In 1984, Dr. Than Than Sein graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the Yangon Institute of Technology. In 2001, she received a Diploma in Biotechnology from the Yangon Institute of Technology and in 2005, she received a Master of Science in Food Engineering and Bioprocess Technology from the AIT Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. From 2006 to 2009, she received a Ph.D. in Environmental Biotechnology from the University of Camerino, School of Biology, Italy.
She worked as an assistant lecturer at the Department of Biotechnology, Yangon Institute of Technology. After receiving his PhD, she worked as an advisor to the Myanmar Fruit and Vegetable Producers and Exporters Association from 2009 to 2011 and as a regional coordinator for organic education at the Myanmar Organic Agriculture Association. From January 2011 to the end of 2011, she worked as a visiting professor at the Faculty of Technology, Maha Sarakham University, Thailand. Since 2011, she is also a visiting professor at the Department of Biotechnology, Mandalay University of Technology. She founded the Myanmar Organic Growers and Producers Association (MOGPA) in 2015. In 2016, she was the first to implement the PGS System (Participatory Guarantee System) in Myanmar.
She has received (6) scholarships from local and foreign countries. She has conducted many researches and has written (18) research papers.
