Dr. Ho Ngoc Son is a Professor of Indigenous Knowledge and Climate Change Adaptation at Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry. He earned his Master of Forestry (2004) and PhD in Global Environmental Change (2013) from the Australian National University.
Dr. Son has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals on indigenous knowledge and the climate change adaptation strategies of ethnic minority communities in Vietnam. In addition to his academic roles, he has served as Deputy Director of the Agriculture and Forestry Research and Development Centre for the Mountainous Region and as a National Climate Change Specialist at the Institute of Forestry and Sustainable Development, both under Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry. He has led numerous research and development projects focused on promoting equality, rights, and empowerment for ethnic minority women in remote areas of Vietnam. Through his work, Dr. Son is committed to ensuring that vulnerable communities are empowered to realize their full potential and to participate in an inclusive, equitable, and forward-looking society.
